This simple soup uses the medicinal properties of soy and algae, warms up and corrects the mood. For the Japanese, this is the basis of their menu and miso is eaten even for breakfast. Algae are a source of large amounts of vitamin. Sweet miso gives the energy of the Earth, strengthening the spleen. For those who are interested in feng shui in the kitchen, this dish belongs to the category of Yin dishes (chilling). When there is an excess of watery energy Yin, you will be cold, wet, weak, then you need to change your diet to Yang dishes, which will warm you up and fill with energy. If you are hot, or too dry, or tormented by constipation – it’s signs of fiery energy Yang, and the food Yin will cool you and help you relax.
Notes:
Instead of chicken broth, you can use dashi – Japanese broth in powder. However, it contains glutamate sodium (flavor enhancer), so I prefer a broth.
