When you live in a country for a long time, over time you adopt a way of behavior and habits, including culinary ones, even those that at first seemed strange. I lived in Poland for a very long time, where Christmas is festively celebrated, gifts are given to everyone, and tables are bursting with various dishes. The New Year comes unnoticed for many, young people hang out in clubs and there is no talk of any feast. Well, if someone organizes a party at home, then a buffet is usually prepared with a variety of cold snacks. To be honest, it’s very convenient: you don’t have to sit at the table all the time, you can eat with your hands, sitting where you have to, and have cultural conversations. And now, when we have a feast, I always serve cold appetizers that you can eat with your hands.

From crab sticks you can cook a lot of different snacks. For rolls, it is best to choose a larger surimi with a dense texture. It is best to look at the sticks from the side to see if the layers are visible on them. If yes, then this type is suitable for today’s dish.

Crab sticks or surimi have become very popular as a substitute for crab meat. They are used in salads, cold and hot appetizers and sushi.

Surimi rolls

Ingredients:

– 350 g crab sticks for rolls
– 2 hard boiled eggs
– 1 garlic clove, minced
– 100 g cream cheese
– 1 tbsp mayonnaise
– 1 tbsp thick sour cream
– 3 tbsp finely chopped dill

Cooking method:

  1. Hard boil eggs, cool, peel and finely chop.
  2. Mix eggs with squeezed garlic, melted cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream and dill. Add salt and black pepper to taste.
  3. Gently unroll the crab sticks, put the filling in them and roll up.
  4. To serve, cut the rolls crosswise into diamonds.
  5. You can serve the rolls on a festive dish along with Surimi Salad in cucumber baskets.

Enjoy your meal!
