Modern sushi is very different from the original version proposed by the Japanese chef. Currently, the recipe presents various flavoring shades. However, the unique cooking technique that was invented by a chef from Japan is still considered the most advanced.
If sushi rolls are wrapped with a roasted seaweed sheet, which is usually the case, it is called Norimaki as seaweed is nori in Japanese.

Typical futomaki is 5 to 6 cm in diameter. They are often made with two, three, or more fillings that are chosen for their complementary tastes and colors.
