Prepare Russian pielmieni (dumplings), it would seem, is not such a big deal. However, it always stops me that the dough needs to be rolled out, cut, flour everywhere and waiting for the cleaning to happen. And what a lucky thing that the Japanese also have a similar dish. And this means that for their preparation they have all been thought out with a minimum of labor costs 😉 Today I share a recipe for delicious gyoza – Japanese dumplings, which is a pleasure to cook!
Gyoza with beef
Ingredients:
For stuffing:
- 250 g ground beef
- 1 small carrot
- 1/4 small yellow onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 2 tsp of corn flour
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- black pepper to taste
2 packs of wrappers for gyoza (24 pieces / packing) & mold for gyoza
For sauce:
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/8 cup soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
Directions:
- For the filling finely chop the onions, carrots, garlic and mix with beef. Add corn flour, soy sauce, black pepper and sesame oil. Mix everything together.
- Using a special form (as for dumplings), put the forcemeat on the middle of the dough wrapper, grease one side with water for gluing and press the edges. You can do this with your hands without using a form.
- In a frying pan, heat the vegetable oil and fry it on both sides until golden brown. Then add the ingredients for the sauce: water, soy sauce and sesame oil. Reduce the heat, close the lid and simmer for 5 minutes. Serve with spring onions and parsley if desired.
