Hello! Very often on holidays, especially in winter, I prepare a spinach roll with smoked salmon. In addition to being delicious, it is also beautiful: green-white-pink. Based on the same cooking method, I decided to make a roll only from eggs, which can be served as a dessert, and as a savory dish, for example with some meat or vegetable.
And here is the result! It turned out very tasty, and the roll does not have an egg smell. The reason is that I used only 1 yolk and 4 whites, well beaten to a thick foam (if the dishes with whipped whites turn upside down, the egg mass will not fall).
As a filling can be anything: spicy cheeses, ham with Philadelphia cheese, smoked salmon and dill, as well as baked apples, cottage cheese with dried fruits and so on.
Egg rolls with rice and toffee apples
1 cup of milk
2 tbsp butter
3 tbsp wheat flour
1 glass of glutinous rice
3-4 tbsp milk
3-4 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp butter
Mix yolk with flour and milk, gently add whipped whites, spread on a greased baking sheet and bake in the oven in temperature 180C until a golden crust is formed.
Peel apple, grate on a large grater. Warm up frying pan and add grated apples, sprinkle with sugar and cook until the sugar melts. Add butter, salt and per 1 tablespoon of milk, every time waiting until the milk evaporates. When the apple becomes caramel color, remove from the heat. Mix with glutinous rice and let cool.
On the ready-made egg layer we put rice with apple and wrap it in roll.
You can also prepare a roll with different fillings, including ham and cheese.
