In Belarusian cuisine there is a dish from potato filled with meat or mushrooms. It is called “potato zrazy”. This dish takes some time to prepare and needs some practice. Well, as a mother of two boys I don’t have too much time so I find my easy way to cook “zrazy”. I call them “lazy potato fritters”.

Lazy potato and beef fritters

Ingredients:

  • 250 g minced beef
  • 3 cooked potatoes
  • 1 egg yolks
  • 1/2 tsp garlic flakes
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 sliced of fresh milk bread, blended in a breadcrumbs

Cooking method:

  1. Cook potatoes in skin, then cool them down, clean and grate on small grater.
  2. Mix well minced beef, potatoes, egg yolk, garlic flakes, salt and fresh breadcrumbs with the hands.
  3. Then form big meatballs, flatten them a little and fry from both sides in the pre-heated big pan with vegetable oil.
